| What are the expenses involved with setting up a chess program?
The answer of course depends on the size of the chess program that you want to have. There are basically three levels of chess programs.
One- Chess Club- This is the type of program where children come and play and very rarely do anything else. There is little instruction and the emphasis is on having fun..Costs are for instructor and equipment.
Two- Chess School- This combines the chess club but offers instruction for the children to get better. Classes can be casual or controlled with the emphasis on improving the children's skills.Costs are for instructor, equipment and instructional materials.
Three- Chess Team- This combines the qualities of a club and a school with the added component of competiton. Children go to tournaments and have there games monitored and reviewed by a chess coach. The emphasis here is on improving and doing well in competitions. Costs are for instructor, coach equipment, instructional materials, travel and travel expenses.
